DeLynn's Personal Journey to Haiti
My experience in Haiti was definitely life changing which is what I expected but…….
I really didn’t know what that meant until now.

Since I’ve been home I have just wanted to do so much for the children. My heart is overflowing with the desire to inspire others that they too can do more. I want others to know how fulfilling life can be when you put others first. That is God’s word ……
“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16 ESV

NOW WHAT: Life after Haiti
God has a plan and purpose for me. Some of those plans I know for sure. Others I will wait for confirmation. I plan on being a sponsor in 2012 for one of the children. I just signed up to go back to Haiti in February. They are doing a construction and missionary trip. I can't wait to be around the kids again. I can't wait to just be with them like no time passed. I can't wait to let them know how important they are in this world.
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28 ESV.

I had an idea the other day of starting a non-profit task force to help orphanages around the world. I am also toying with the idea of writing a book based on people's experiences on mission trips.

I also want to continue to encourage others to live outside of their world and to do more for others.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Dan wonders every month how the expenses are going to be met to support the kids. Our children need sponsors. They need prayers. They need your support in acquiring the things that will give them a future. I hope the information that I have shared with you has touched your heart. It's hard to convey the feelings and emotions that come from an experience like this. I honestly eat, sleep and dream about these children. On the left I have provided links that may give you ideas on how to help if your heart desires. You can be a blessing from afar. You are a blessing for just opening your heart and experiencing Haiti through me. Thank you, thank you and THANK YOU AGAIN.

As mentioned, I am going back to Haiti in February. If you’d like to donate (no amount is too small) to my February trip, please contact me Thanks in advance for your consideration.

I honestly can't thank you enough for going along on my journey. I am forever grateful for your participation, love and support. I pray that God gives you favor for all that you have done and all that you will do.

Just remember – "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7 ESV

Thank you for experiencing Haiti with me. May God bless you and your family.

In 1791, the slave population revolted--led by Toussaint L'Ouverture, Jean Jacques Dessalines, and Henri Christophe--and gained control of the northern part of the French colony, waging a war of attrition against the French. By January 1804, local forces defeated an army sent by Napoleon Bonaparte, established independence from France, and renamed the area Haiti. The impending defeat of the French in Haiti is widely credited with contributing to Napoleon's decision to sell the Louisiana territory to the United States in 1803. Haiti is the world's oldest black republic and the second-oldest republic in the Western Hemisphere, after the United States.
