"Only In America"
Lennox Lewis is suing Don King for $385 million because it didn't happen.

Syracuse, NY (ENet News) - I was sitting in my apartment one night eating a green salad with sautéed chicken, sipping on a glass of passion juice watching Sportscenter. In between the crunchin' and sippin' of the sssssssyrrruppp, I hear the name of one of the most controversial people in the sports world.

No, not Pete Rose. DON KING! I couldn't make out what was said, but I guessed it wasn't too cool because of Lennox Lewis' photo and the words "law suit".

So, the next morning I went on-line (My start-up page being SoulofSyracuse.com) to check out what Don had going on this month.

Lennox Lewis is suing Don King. The suit claims the zealous one made death threats against someone and bribed another in Mike's camp in order to detain Mike from physically signing the deal for the rematch. (Side note, after that last thrashing, someone should talk my boy out of a rematch.) I know I am making it sound real simple but it's not.

Only in America can someone sue another over something that really didn't happen directly to him or her. Stay with me because here is where I am going. Lennox is suing for $385 million of them "thangs". In a nutshell, the suit states King was allegedly trying to stop the rematch by "getting" to Iron Mike. Reports say Don is also trying to sway Mike back in his corner.

Why is the proficient DK trying to get with Mike again?

Mike is suing the magnanimous one for $100 million and if Don gets him back the suit "might disappear". LL's suit states Donny Boy cost him $10 million by conspiring to hold Tyson off a proposed June 21 fight and another $25 million by tying to detain Tyson from signing a deal between the two fighters. Why the other $355 million?

Every time I hear of fighters signing on to be with Don, I hope they know what they're getting into. Maybe they don't see the signs of what happened to other fighters. Maybe they see the signs but want the loot. Now, I am not saying the preverbal one is dirty, but there is something that makes me go hmmmm.

A while back on "The Chris Rock Show" Don was asked why there is controversy with him especially when it came to fighters and they're funds. Don's reply was along the lines of; "too many fighters are concerned about my money. I tell them I am going to get them money and I do. I get a piece of their money and the money that's made above there's". He proceeds to say; "Don't worry about my money, be concerned about your own money!" Hey there is nothing wrong with that, but the fighters should understand the game. If you know the game you can't get played.

Only in America can one person be mentioned in so much alleged controversy and still make a killing in his profession. Only in America can someone really think to sue for that kind of loot. Only in America can your click be bribed to turn on you. Only in America can an employee get upset that the employer makes more loot than them. Only in America! Only in America can Don King get some love.

Is it ludicrous?
