2nd annual Latino Upstate Summit

This event will assemble the organizations and the key people that serve this ethnic group from Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Rome-Utica, Amsterdam, Oneida, Albany and anything in between. Besides attracting business owners, non-for-profit organizations, and governmental entities, the 2008 Latino Upstate Summit will also draw politicians and elected officials (current or candidates), as an important stop in this year's presidential elections. Not only the Governor has been invited, but also we expect to have some of the cities' mayors, members of the legislation and the assembly, and representatives of Congress.

There are also going to be Seminars and Workshops about Health, Immigration, Education, Economic Development, and Youth

Child Prodigy on the drums at the age of three, a professional musician at ten, joined the Basie Band in his twenty third year at Joe William’s recommendation, chosen by Mel Lewis as his successor in the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, winner of the National Endowment for the Arts Composers Grant – Dennis Mackrel is one of the most highly talented and respected musicians, composers and arrangers on the international scene today. His work has been recorded and performed on Grammy-winning recordings by the Count Basie Orchestra, the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band and the McCoy Tyner Big Band.
